Many thanks to the citizens of each of the three communities who participated in workshops and shared with us and each other responses to our scientific and sociological research findings. A number of action items and recommendations for future community adaptation measures were identified. Outcomes from the workshops will be synthesized and posted to this site soon. Dr. Joe Melton presents Skeena project at American Geophysical Union Meeting
Dr. Melton gave a presentation to attendees at the American Geophysical Union meeting in San Francisco on December 6. The presentation ‘”Climate change adaptation planning for the Skeena region of British Columbia, Canada: A combined biophysical modelling, social science, and community engagement approach”, was well received by the audience. Dr. Melton leads the LPJ-Guess modelling component of the research project, and his data has also been presented to communities in Lax Kw ‘alaams, Terrace and Prince Rupert, BC.
