Dr. Jed Kaplan presents work at CMI Conference: Carbon Management in BC Ecosystems
On June 15 & 16, the Columbia Mountain Institute hosted a conference on carbon management in BC ecosystems. Dr. Kaplan presented a number of preliminary findings from the FFESC project. These findings will be posted shortly to the Vegetation Modeling page on this site.

First round of FSW field training and monitoring pilot a success!
Lars Reese-Hanson (MOE) along with research colleagues Marc Porter (ESSA), Darcy Pickard (ESSA) and Richard Thompson (MOE) were joined by a number a stakeholders and interest groups in piloting the first phase of the FSW monitoring and field data collection in the Lakelse. A big thank you to all who supported this work. Phase 2 of the pilot will continue in early September. Check out the photos on the FSW page!
Terrace Council Presentation -April 26
Richard Chavez of Coast Tsimshian Resources, will offer a short presentation to Terrace Council on April 26 to outline the Climate Change Adaptation Planning for NW Skeena Communities project.

Interviews ongoing in 3 NW Skeena communities
Over 40 interviews with local leaders, stakeholders, and residents have taken place in the municipalities of Terrace and Prince Rupert, and interviews have commenced in the First Nations community of Lax Kw ‘alaams.
Researchers are grateful for the support of the Town Councils in Terrace and Prince Rupert in this research. Many thanks also to the Chief and Council of Lax Kw ‘alaams, and the elders of Lax Kw ‘alaams, for their support and guidance in this research, and too all of those who have so generously offered their time, insight and knowledge.
